Laserjet M602

I've got a laserjet M602 out in the field that continually says tray#2 lifting, but never comes to ready. I've changed out the toner cartridge & fuser. There is no paper stuck anywhere in the machine.. I've even swapped out the power supply and the DC controller with no luck. Any input would be appreciated.

Have you checked the lifter drive for a crack? Common issue on that series.

Don't think it's the lift motor. The machine has a tray 3 attached, and when you remove tray#2, it changes the message to tray#3, lifting with the same results
