HP 4000 -Like the ever ready battery ......

    Good AM ALL
Hope you all find something to smile about today even if it is just eating some happy food(Like a NY BAGEL).
I have a customer with an HP 4000 in excellent shape that has an additional tray(Tray 3).I do not remember how to set it up
so that theit keeps printing from the tray with paper in it if one tray runs out of paper while printing. For example if tray 3 runs out of paper then it will continue to print from tray 2.
I thought it may have to do with a setting on Tray 1(Bypass) but really cant remember.
THANK YOU ALL for putting up with me and my "should know the answer" all these years
    Andy

If I remember correctly it will feed from tray #2 until paper runs out, then start pulling from tray #3, but not the other way around (top down). So in the paper handling menu you'll want Tray 1 Mode: set to CASS, and the size and media type need to be set the same (presumably letter/plain).

If the print driver is defaulted to tray #3, that tray will run out of paper first, so you'll want the print driver set to Auto paper source. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
