    T2500 ps

    Hello,
We have a used Hp T2500 plotter bought 2 years ago. It would help us if we had a postscript. It existed at the time of the appearance of the T2500 PS, the difference between them I saw is only software (T2500PS comes with the postscript upgrade kit, C0C66A, included). Is there any possibility to turn it into ps?
    Thank you very much everyone!

You seem to have answered your own question. Yes, you can convert it to PS using that kit.

I see one on ebay for $1,095. C0C66c HP DesignJet PostScript/PDF Upgrade Kit-T900;1500;1700;3500 SER. | eBay

      Thanks for your time!
I think I didn't ask the question well. Can it be converted to postscript without buying the upgrade kit? I think that the upgrade from the stick is installed somewhere (on the formatter pca or hdd), I'm not sure.
It is definitely not worth investing so much money (~$1100) in a plotter that is already quite worn out and I don't know how long it will have.
I was thinking that if I know where the post script from the upgrade stick is "installed", I could replace that part and thus it would turn into a ps plotter.

I don't see any PS specific part numbers between the PS and non-PS models, so it must be done programmatically, and whatever that upgrade kit does, flips the software 'switch' to make it PS. The printer also has ways of maintaining its model number when you replace parts like the main PCA or formatter, namely to keep people from getting or losing the PS functionality.

Out of curiosity, why do you need Postscript?

          Re: T2500 ps

We would need ps mainly to scan directly to pdf, currently we scan in tiff format, which we then convert to pdf. It's a waste of time to do this with dozens of images a day. Plus, the pdf made from tiff (pixels) must be resized to the size of the plan in mm/inch.
That's why I ask if there is any option to turn it into a postscript. Maybe someone knows where that language is implemented in the plotter..

I found in the service manual the list with the positions of the electrical parts. I think that one or more are definitely paired. I saw that position 2 (CR357-67051 - formatter pca) and position 3 (CR357-67049 - engine pca) have a total of 1.5GB of memory. If I replace these 2 positions from an hp T2500ps plotter (CR359A) in our T2500 plotter (CR358A), is it enough to turn it into a T2500ps?
            Sorry if I'm asking nonsense..

I don't think it lets you replace two parts like that together. You'll get a 59.5 error. You can only replace one of them at a time so the printer can keep its model number.

I understand. I am starting to give up the idea of making the plotter something it is not

I'd make an offer on the kit on ebay. It's cheaper than a new printer. Maybe they'll take $200 or something.

We managed to get a postscript upgrade stick from ebay (C0C66A). Unfortunately, when I connect it to the plotter, it tells me that it was installed on another plotter (This dongle was already installed on a printer with S/N B9E24A CN45E2H00N. Please remove the USB dongle).

Is there any way to install Postscript on our plotter?

                    Thank you very much!
