Suddenly print problems with HPGL 2 Driver with a new T650

Dear Community,

we have a customer whose T650 worked fine with the HPGL 2 Driver unitl yesterday from several PC's.
Today, when you print the printer prints the beginning, stops ejects far to much paper doesn't cut it off.
We use the function "Remove emtpy areas in the driver" but printer ignores this and ejects to much paper.
Even with the windows test page there are only some black dots in the corner of the paper rest is blank.
It occurs at least from 2 PCs. Other colleagues are not in the office today, so I could test more PCs.
I've already tried the following:
-installed the latest HPGL2 driver version
-connected one PC directly with Patchcable to th printer
-removed the last Windows patches
Same error again and again.
The only thing that has worked was intalling the PCL3 printer driver that windows finds automatically.
But here the margin, when using "Remove blank areas" is too small.

What could have happened? It worked fine until yesterday. I don't want to change drivers at several PC's if possible.

had similar issue on 6 month old T630 Monday. was working fine then it stopped rendering and printing text/font on drawings but only the 1st page of a job.

updated to latest HPGL remotely and printed windows test page. plotter printed a few random blue blocks before ejecting and wasting an entire new roll paper.

running the PCL3 driver now while waiting for feedback from higher ups

Thank you it's good to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem.
I don't believe it's a hardware issue with the printer itself. But how to exclude?

What version of Windows? And what version is displayed in the driver properties under About when this issue occurs?

my issue was with a whole bunch of windows 10 PC's and cant recall the version of the driver now unfortunately but am convinced it is a windows 10 update thats messing around again because had random ricoh device drivers today that won't open the properties window to select colour/tray etc. tries to open and just disappears even after PC reboot, restarting print spooler and trying a fresh install

That's why it would be useful to know the driver version when the problem is occurring; see if it differs from the HP driver version. I've also witnessed Windows changing the driver with a T1300, so it wouldn't surprise me that it's MS's doing.

Do you know what Windows 10 version you have. 21H1 or older is already months to years beyond Microsoft end of support. 20H2 reached end of support on the 9^th. Once beyond end of support, drivers are not required to fully support the OS. You might want to see if you can get an older driver. If you can, fully uninstall everything before installing the older driver, Try something released back in 2020 or 2019.

No unfortunately not. The customer has a Win 11 PC which causes the same problem.

Maybe HP needs to create some drivers for Windows 11. Their download page only offers Win10 drivers when I connect with my Windows 11.

I got a customer with this problem but on a t520 36 inch, running hpgl driver and windows 11 they have it on several machines and use gerber accumark that they print from.
Im visiting them today i can check drivers they are using.

and this morning the PCL3 driver stopped cutting paper. just got the call now will hopefully get there during the course of the day but this was an issue we had previously on that same T630 when it was brand new. if slim is right (which I dont doubt for a second) about win10 not being supported anymore this is going to be fun for the next couple of years till the customer decides to update their 1000's of PC's to win11

my users used HPGL driver 61.2211.0.150, anyway I installed a used t795 and that one works with the same driver.
I didnt bother looking into it that much, but the t520 seemed to work for those using the pcl V4 driver.

This is a late reply.
Please install the latest firmware, and install the HPGL/2 driver.
This should resolve most issues.
