HP laserjet M806x with grinding from pickup assembly with trays 2&3

Hello,

I'm working on an HP M806x that started with tray lift errors in 2 & 3, along with not recognizing trays 2 & 3. The event log showed error 60.00.02. It just had a grinding noise when trays 2 & 3 were installed.
I swapped the trays with the same results.
I replaced the pickup assembly (full unit) with a brand new one. The same problems still exists.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I factory reset the printer and updated the firmware. It didn't help.

When I physically examine the pick up assembly, I don't see any issues with it.
The new one looks identical to the original.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

60 errors are lifting assembly errors.

Is there any paper or debris blocking the lifting assemblies?

If not, replace the lift motors.

You can see them if you remove the trays and look at the back wall of the printer.

When installing the main machine onto the trays you may have damaged the tray drive on the main machine
