LJ 607M, not lifting paper tray...

Hey guys.. this started out as a paper jam, likely due to the tiny rollers HP uses in that model. But when I went to look at it, I removed the paper, then the tray (2) started to lift erratically, then not at all. I suspect this has been going on for a while and probably contributed to the paper jamming. I looked at all the components and it appears everything is intact with nothing broken.

Do these things have paper lift issues, stemming from the lift gears/assembly? Or is it something else?

    Thanks in advance!

Make sure paper tray tabs are set properly and paper is not jammed in tray, making it difficult to raise. People often load paper in a hurry and get the paper all funky in the tray.

      Take a look at this:

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I did a little more research and it appears this problem may have happened because I removed the paper feed roller unit (with the two rollers) and then reinstalled it. That's when the lift tray thing came about. I did check both ways where the little white arm was (looked like) out of place, but now I realize it has to hang free. Nothing in the tray impeding paper lift. Checked that. So now I'm going back with new feed rollers, and hopefully, install them correctly and see what happens from there.
