    PCA Interconnect board interchangeable?

    Does CN727-60002 interchange with CN727-67020?

Have a Z5400 (Rev A) with a CN727-60002 part number on the PCA. Printer does NOT have a scanner but there is a place to connect it on this board.

The CN727-67020 board also has a scanner connection place.

There is another part number CN727-60008 that doesn't have the connection for a scanner. But says it fits the Z5400. Doesn't say Rev A or B.

Do are all three of these interchangeable? Not sure which one to buy. Leaning towards the 67020 or the 60002. First one is returnable, second is not.

    Thanks.

The way I usually determine such questions is by looking up the part on the HP Parts website, and checking to see what printers a part is meant for. Realizing this is not always accurate but in general, it's correct. You can also find info from the HP Part Surfer site.

So checking the parts store, CN727-67002 doesn't appear to exist. But on the part surfer site, it is listed, and shows as used in the Z5400.

The parts store does list CN727-67020, and does show it as used in the Z5400. Based on this I would suspect the 67002 was replaced by the 67020.

I don't see the 60008 part number on either site, so I wouldn't recommend that part if that's indeed an actual part number. Some websites trying to sell parts will use a part number found on the board which is not necessarily the part number HP uses, due to firmware changes, etc.

The service manual says the part number is CN727-670020 so I would stick with that.

I don't know where you're finding the parts available, but you can always return something to the HP parts store if it wasn't what you needed. Naturally they charge $25 or 15% restocking fee, I believe. And you're sure to get a new part, usually!
