    HP4345

    Hi,
    I have a HP4345 that does not pass the initial boot process. It is getting stuck at 6/6 E never gets to F. it also has a dim display but working.

    I have repalced formatter, power supplies, scanner and ADF

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    That machine is old. Been years since I touched one of those. Found this for you and it makes sense, so try this

    There are many steps you need to take to completely diagnose what is going. First, remove the formatter and attempt to start the unit and print an engine test. There is a small hole on the back of the machine that contains the engine test button.

    Make sure you have paper in tray 2 or engine test will fail. With formatter removed, power on unit, wait a couple of minutes and then press and hold the engine test button to see if the printer ejects a page with lines on it. If it does, then the problem likely lies with the formatter.

    Removed the modem, reinstall the formatter and with only the power cord attached start the printer and see what happens. If it still will not start, I would suggest that you should try initializing the hard disk.

    Also, try a different hard drive . Format it with fat 32 first. I forgot all the procedure, but try that. The above I found on the net.
