    HP 4250/ Continuous prints

    Hi
    Whether you print from computer(any one) or if you do a test print(For example Configuration page)it keeps making prints never stopping until your able to somehow cancel job. It does this every time.Is there a program I need to reset?

      Have a closer look at that configuration page and check what the 'Copies/prints' count is set to. If someone has a play with the seetings, it would be easy to change the default from 1 backwards to 999 with one key press. Change it to 1 as it should be, so you only get 1 copy of your print job. Its the same with most machines.

          I must agree with wazza. That was a call for me last week. Someone got in the control panel of a 9550 and change the default to 32,000. You can really waste a lot of paper that way.

              Think this was also a symptom of the buggy JetDirect 615 cards if I recall correctly. Is there a 615 installed? If so can you swap it with another card from another printer? Otherwise the JetDirect might be on the Formatter which you might be able to reinit.

                  HI,
                  Thanks for giving me possible soloution to problem,I have not been to customer again,I will be going Tommorrow. Ill let you know how it turns out.

                      I've seen that on a HP LJ4200 at the high school. Some smart student bumped up the number of copies to 999. =^..^=
                      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
