    hp 4100

So i have this printer which when you print through the cassette the paper moves all the way through the printer with no image put on the page and then a 13.1 jam appears. If printing through the by pass tray the paper comes out correctly and with a fine image. So I replaced the paper feed sensor assbly. and turned it back on it printed the config page just fine which is two pages. On try number two it went back to the original problem. I did notice that when printing the config page which again is two pages that if i put one sheet in the by pass and make it pull the second sheet from the cassete that it prints just fine. Any suggestions would be great I mainly work on ricohs and dont have a lot of hands on on these printers.

sounds like the rubber on the separation rollers could be worn. These are really solid printers. Most likely something simple.

fix: do you think that this would account for blank prints? Especially config pages?

Maybe it's just me, but that sounds too weird to be a feed issue. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

no, of course not, I think by the time I got to the end of his thread I had forgot what he wrote, but I am thinking more info is needed. Could it be a wrong paper size issue or type. I think without more info I would suggest changing the settings in the tray to see if it changes the issue. That is the best I can come up with for the time being. I had my shoulder operated on Tuesday and I have been eating percocets like M&M's all week. Uh what were we talking about.

Solution turned out to be the paper feed assembly. put it in and never had another problem. thanks to all that gave their input.
