    HP 3050 MFD light prints

Prints are grey and sort of mottled looking. We changed out the cart. right away and still light. Transfer roller is in place. Looking around inside, I found a red wire with silver connector on it hanging loose. I cant find where it goes It comes from the top rear corner of the board on the operators left side of the machine. Looks like a power supply or HV board. The silver connector was laying on a metal piece of the frame in the rear, and I can't find a home for it. Thanks for your help!

We had one of these in shop and got rid of it before I could take it apart to learn anything. In HP printers, those kind of cables usually run from an engine control board to HVPS contacts. You need to look for bare wire contact and the clip will attach to plastic with the metal back of it touching the wire. In other machines, HP uses a metal connector to connect switch contacts. It will depend on the type of end you have. The service manual is virtually useless as it doesn't have a disassembly section. It's a cheaper printer so not all the parts are shown in the parts manual either. The power supply is on the left side and the engine controller is on the bottom toward the back. Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you part of the parts manual and wiring schematic. That's the best I can do.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Nailed it! I looked at the fuser removal section of the SM. There is a picture of the rear of the 3050 with the red wire coming around the corner and going into the top left area of the rear. There is a silver wire there looking like a paper clip. The red wire goes in from above and the silver wire springs against it to make contact. Thanks prntrfxr, you gave me the clue to get there.
