    HP laserjet 4

    While i am giving the print to printer first its always showing before picking up each paper "PC LOAD LETTER" then i press shift+continue button and then its shows "MP LOAD LETTER" pressed again shift+continue button it picks up the paper now from cassette and when papers gets out its showing error 41.3. then i tried to check by feeding paper from bypass and still there is errors "pc load letter" and "mp load letter" after clearing this errors by shift+continue paper comes out ok.
    i also check the error 41.3 in the manuals and it says paper size error . and i checked the configuration of printer and its settings was ok too , i am using A4 and it was Set on A4 also. and i tried to clean the all rollers and checked the fixing etc etc but problem is still there... Any suggestions plz

    This is a really old machine. Your time would be better served to get the customer to upgrade as the cost to repair will be more than the machine is worth. Some customers prefer the one they have already and do not wish to upgrade. In that case:

    Replace the Paper Input Unit, if the tray is good. Part number is: RG5-0451. They run around $50 (US), with repair time being less than 30min. If you are looking for a source or installation instructions, send me a PM.
    Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

      This is that scene out of the movie Office Space, right?

      "What the hell does PC Load Letter mean!!!?" =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        I've never seen Office Space, Blackcat, so your joke was lost on me. You'd be surprised how many people (including techs) that don't know what PC Load Letter means. I wasn't surprised by it.

        PC = paper cassette
        MP = multi-purpose tray

        for those who don't know. The fact that the printer has both errors, error 41.3, and does feed paper, indicates the problem is paper size sensors which are part of the Paper Input Unit, hence that was my recommendation.

          You have to see Office Space. There's this scene that takes place out in a vacant lot, with a printer... well you've got to see it for yourself. =^..^=

            Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.
