this plotter is giving me a "clear printhead path turn off (1) "error message. looks like the printhead cleaner unit "service station" is not allowing the carrage to go in/out of it. any ideals? looking at the service manual but it does not get into this error. 1. could it be the incoder strip? 2. replace the service station? 3. just clean the service station? any help on this wuld be great thanks howard auburn business system's

On this model the mechanical aspects of the service station get gummed up with the sprayed waste ink, and cease to move smoothly. I'd start by removing the service station. Remove the large gobs of ink, then clean the remaining parts in the hottest water that you can stand. It will look like new, and work a whole lot better. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yep and I would clean the rail the carriage slides on while I was at it. Lube with 3n1 oil or something light weight like it.Comment
