Re: 4015 Not recognizing toner cartridge

Anybody got a picture of what it's supposed to look like? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Had a VERY SIMILAR problem on a CLJ and it ended up the whole machine had to be replaced. Symptom, if I recall correctly, was Cyan kept fading out. It would go away from time to time, but always come back. I believe the frame was cracked (left side HV contact area) and had to be replaced. I mean the ENTIRE PRINTER!!!
It's wise to caution ALL your color HP customers to be very careful when installing/removing cartridges, regardless of how frustrated they may be with a paper jam or whatever.

We have a used P4014 transfer assembly (entire plastic frame the transfer roller and registration asm fits into) complete with these contacts. Send me a PM if you want it and I'll tell you what we'll sell it to you for.

            YIPPEE !!!!!!!

We got the Transfer Assembly from prntrfxr ; got it installed ; replaced a broken piece on the drum drive (BORROWED from another printer in for repair ): we have run a couple hundred prints through this unit and all seems OK .

After the transfer assembly install, we were getting jams on every sheet at the transfer roller. After much sweat, hair pulling, etc. we found that the stop on the drum drive unit ‘bushing’ was broken, allowing the cartridge to go too far into the printer .

This caused the drum gear in the cartridge to be out of alignment with the drum drive gear on the frame; with the drum not turning, the paper jams right there at the drum .
We think this was the original problem : that the customer taking the cartridge in and out broke that piece causing all the jams , and then the contacts were bent causing the error of the cartridge not being recognized . Who knows .

ANYWAY ........ It's working ...... and THANKS to all for the assistance .

I have experienced the same problem. and have not found any kind of solution. Did your theroy work in reference to the last possible thought? or did you send this back to HP? The fact that they have these out there and without giving guidance to a problem (like a "bad" batch of Formatter boards that they had a window open for return for one year....Good ole Meg Whittman......sucks!) Did you resole this issue for your HP 4115? you can send me an email...I know this is an old post, but need to know how far you have taken the issue?,Anyways, have a "Great one!"
