    [Misc] HP CP1215 settings questions

A friend called and asked about some settings on his HP CP1215 printer. I know copiers but dont know much about printers. The settings he is asking about are: 1 background toner 2. extra drum cleaning 3. drum banding ---all of these are default set to off. He read somewhere on the net it would be best to turn these settings on. What would be the advantage or disadvantange of turning any of these three items on?

    Thanks

All three settings are found in the ToolBox software under Extended Print Modes to change how the printer operates (print modes) for different media types found in the driver. Background Toner ON - to reduce background when printing on glossy media. Extra drum cleaning ON - reduces residue left by "high-acid media". Drum Banding ON - reduce the occurance of sharp image quality defect lines at the drum by inducing extra drum pre-rotations and by jogging the drums slightly after each job. Caution note: Only use to improve print quality and changing settings can have significant impact on print quality and product operation.. So, if printing on standard media, no adjustment needed.
