    M2727 error 5 code/scanner error

    HI,
Im getting code on machine as soon as machine starts to warm up.It is a relatively new machine with only few thousand cprints and copies. The scanner moves to the right and as it gets to extreme right it starts to nake nosi as the scanner seems to freeze up as it tries to return to home position,It starts to vibrate back AND FORTH,iVE SEEN THIS ON SOME COPIERS WHERE i HAD TO CLEAN AND LUBE SCANNER RAIL.This looks like a project on this machine and I dont want to take apart unless absolutely neccessary.
Any help and insight would be greatly welcomed.
    THANKS. ANDY

HP has tried to eliminate the need to work on these. Current resolution to this problem is check the connection cable between the flatbed scanner and the printer, followed by replace the flatbed scanner.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".
