    HP4250n

Hi all.... I don't work on these but they have me going out to service this HP printer! Does anyone know how to take it apart? It is causing lots of lines all over the page. Suspect fuser? I was told that they changed out the drum/toner unit already.

      In the order of likelyhood:

      1) laser cartridge (doesn't matter if its new)
      2) fuser film
      3) transfer roller
      4) dirty laser optics/mirrors (only if it was in a dirty environment, usually the covers give it away). By the way, don't touch the reflective surfaces of the polygon mirror. You can use a blower brush. The polygon mirror surfaces scratch very easily. I ruined one with a Q-tip.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Lots of lines on the copies

          Blackcat....

I asked her if they replaced the toner/drum cartridge and she said that they've put in a couple already and they still continued to have lines thru out the page. I'm betting on either fuser or xfer roller. I dont' know how many pages they have on it... Just a tech sent me a link and that manual is great! I've never seen an HP manual before, but its just getting used to the format.

          Thanks for you input!!

Of all the manuals I've used I'd have to say HP is written the best. Understandable, complete, and English! Good luck.
