    HP LJ 5000 sleeve

I have a question about changing the sleeve in this fuser.
The original problem was that the sleeve stucked somtimes during print. It ran more than 400k pages. I suppesed it has dried out. Since the sleeve looked well, we agreed with the customer first we try only re-grease the sleeve.
But when I tried to reassemle it small cracks occured on the sleeve. It was too old, no surprise.
But I asked about his experience about this problem a friend of mine who is a technician at the ex official HP service in Hungary. He told that they tried it once, but about 2 months later the machine came back with the same problem. (Broken sleeve)

I wonder what is your experience about changing the sleeve? Changing the fuser would be easy but customer possibly don't want spend that money.

It depends what grease you use and the manufacturer of the sleeve.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

The dealer where I used to buy parts mostly sell Katun.
Perhaps the sleeves are the same. I don't remember.
