[Jamming] HP-(CLJ)4500DN tries to feed from 1st tray without paper loaded

What I have dond so far is-I switched that whole drawer assembly out, that houses the transfer kit, but still the same symptom exist. This is happening when using the op panel to print logs/menus & things. I dont have this connected to anything, But ALL of my other 45's feed from the #2 trays. What different? thanks,

Is this just a configuration issue? Check the tray 1 configuration. You don't want to default to feeding out of it 1st.

If it is trying to feed from tray 12 and there is no paper it indicates that the paper present sensor lever/flag is activaited all the time. Broken/popped out

When you print a configuration page, what does list for tray 1 and 2? What paper size? Is the wheel/flag for tray 1 out of position or broken?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

IT says tray 1 letter/unknown &tray 2 says letter/plain. I know this is correct. As speaking of the wheel sensor unit, I swapped the whole drawer with another--same problem. Whats next?
