    HP LJ C5500 stops in the middle of a print job and times out

    I have a customer with a HPLJ C5500 that will print about 10 pages of a 70 page document then the LCD screen says data received and the printer will stop printing and eventually times out. Any suggestions. This unit has a jet direct card(600). I am thinking it might be the jet direct card but need to know if anyone had this problem out in the field, just to be sure.

    I'd start by resetting the JetDirect, then re-entering the address. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      I did reset the jet direct card and re-enter the addresses and it still timed out during the middle of printing a job.

        Does it show the DIMM Memory on the Configuration Report? Possible failed image memory. You might try to re-seat it.

            It shows Dimm and I reaseated the Dimm. Today I will get a jet direct and try that.

              Printer is now working properly after a new jet direct card was replaced with a newer version card.
