    Designjet 800 disabling ink cartridges

Have a DJ 800, customer says after replacing ink cartridge, after about 2 weeks it says the cartridge is empty, which it is not. This has happened to all 4 colors. Using OEM ink, and have replaced each color at least 3 or 4 times with same result each time. No idea on this one, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.... Jeff M.

These machines used to have that old ink cartridges expired after the use before date, this was solved in a firmware update. Check the exp date on the cartridge.

Also check for air and leaks in the tubes.

I have seen this on printheads not ink carts. Had a customer who tried a non HP ink cart, didn't work so well. Went back to OEM carts. His printheads kept needing to be changed. Tuns out the non HP in plugged the ink supply tubes so ink wasn't flowing through the tubes on the color the non HP ink was on. The customer would change the printhead (which have ink in them) and it would work until the ink was spent in the printhead and he'd have to change the print head again. Changing the tubing system and not using 3rd party ink ever again fixed the problem.
