    HP CLJ 4600 pick up paper continuously non stop

    Hi Expert,

    my HP CLJ 4600 seem like keep picking up paper without a pause.

    for example, like normal printer processing job, pick up roller will turn 1 round to push the paper to cassette roller and convey to image belt.

    i wonder why this pick up roller keep turning; paper is not fully goes into image belt yet, it had turn 2 round on the same paper.. Does this right?

    somehow i was printing one page but it pull 2 papers up which second paper causing the jam.

    does anyone have this problem before?

      It is possible that the feed solenoid is getting stuck. IDK if this is the same as like a 4200/4100 and such but they have a solenoid that have foam that gets old and sticky and causes the solenoid to stick and keep feeding. You can fix by cleaning old foam and applying Electric tape; Or by a new solenoid;

      Note:If you dont put the tape it wont work right.

          ditto Bill.

          The old sticky foam can cause it. And removing the foam can do it. If you just leave the metal bare it will magnetize, producing the same effect.
          I have a single hole punch and punch out 6mm disks of rubber (recycled bicycle inner tube). Adhere it with superglue.

          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

                  Replace the pick-up asm or replace the solenoid for tray 1. The solenoid is in the pick-up asm, which feeds paper for tray 2 and tray 1. The paper tray has the mp roller and sep pad in it. You might want to check them for wear as well.

                      Hi everyone,

                      Manage to settle the issue by cleaning up the sticky foam on the two solenoids.

                      Its runnning normal currently with pause after pick up first paper and continue after first paper goes up to image belt..
