Hp CLJ 4600 Printing weird gradient

We have sold an Hp CLJ 4600 and it seems to print everything else just fine Even if the Customer Prints this same Image as A Landscape It Comes Out Looking Fine. BUT they want it to print as it is Scrunched into portrait but it has these print issues

To me, the regular interval tells me that it's probably not a printer problem.

I would get a copy of the original electronic document and examine it with ColorPic. You may just find that the printer is printing exactly what it is asked to print. In that case you're done.

If that gradient is not stepped as you find it in the original, and attempt to print it from a known working print driver, crossover'ed from my laptop. If the problem goes away, you've narrowed to it to a driver or application problem.

If the problem remains you may have an image processing problem on the printer, indicating a formatter board, but I don't think you'll get this far into it. My psychic reading is that you'll find an uneven gradient with ColorPic in the original electronic doc, and that will be that. =^..^=
