It does this on at least 1 out of every 3 pages. These samples are the config page printed from the internal memory, so drivers not an issue. The samples are supposed to be b&w.

Re: Designjet 500 making pretty wallpaper.
Bad ribbon cable I would think.Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it. -
Re: Designjet 500 making pretty wallpaper.
I did not think of the ribbon, why would you thnk it is the problem? After talking to a different person today, I was told that it was sent 5 prints to do, and after the third one it started this and is on every print now.The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Re: Designjet 500 making pretty wallpaper.
It is high failure part.
The ribbon is always flexing causing the failure rate.
I may be wrong but I think this is a paralle connection, so if a trace is broken than the transmision is screwed up.
This could produce what you are seeing.
Besides it costs less than a formatter board.
