Working on a HP 4015tn. Customer called in with a 50.3 fuser error. We ordered the fuser and replaced it. Still has the same code. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Turn the printer off, wait
20 minutes, and then turn
the printer on.
If the message persists,
reseat the Fuser. If that
does not work, replace the
Fuser.
To check the Fuser, turn
the printer off and remove
the Fuser. Measure the
resistance between the
Fuser connectors J132-1
and J132-2. If it is not within the
range of 200kW to 500kW,
replace the Fuser.
If there is no continuity
between the Fuser
connectors J143F
(neutral) and J142F (hot)
with the Fuser removed,
replace the Fuser.
If the problem is not
related to the Fuser,
replace the Engine
Controller Board
That's a fuser overheat error, and all the manual says is to make sure you have the right fuser in the machine. The 110V fuser is part number CB506-67901, the 220V one is part number CB506-67902.
Was the fuser warming up? If not, you might have a dead DC controller, which I believe is part number RM1-4582-000CN. You probably should price that before you replace it, and if you do replace it, refer to the manual as there is a very specific procedure to do that.
Other than that, clean the connector on the machine and the fuser unit, and unplug the machine for around a half hour to reset the power supply (at least the half hour was how long we waited to let the power supply reset on some of the machines after a power surge).
