[Error Code] HP 3800dn error 50.9

Got a 50.9 fuser error. Fuser was replaced. Less than month later same error 50.9. Operator would take the fuser out and reinstall at times to get the error to reset for a short time. Change fuser again which worked fine while i was at location. After a few days of time it came back up again. I believe two fusers are unlikely to be bad.

I've never seen this in the field before, but according to the definition of that error in the manual it makes it sound like the plug on the machine that the fuser plugs into might have some crud in it, or the plug might be damaged or the mounting might be bad.

I've seen this code on a CLJ3600 which uses the same fuser. The code cleared most times and often lasted for a couple days before it re-occurred. I've found a damaged rear fixing pressure cam gear 14T. Unfortunately this part is not readily available separately, so you're probably stuck with replacing the fuser again.

"50.9 Error". Defective fuser. Rear fixing pressure cam gear 14T is missing two teeth. Replace fuser unit (RM1-2665-AEX).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks should have thought to check contacts. I was on the edge of thinking dc controller but for me, rarely does changing a board out an any machine ever become the correct remedy. I do notice that these fusers are not in oem packaging but they do look brand new. I wonder if the quality control is just not there.

I would upgrade firmware if it id older; Latest: 46_050_2 (17 Feb 2012)

FIXES AND ENHANCEMENTS PROVIDED WITH PREVIOUS FIRMWARE REVISION NOTE:
Corrected the failure that mistakenly detects the 50.8 errors.

Even though this is 50.8 close enough for me
