    LJ2100 and LJ2200 - Same laser unit?

I have a trusty LJ2200 which has a dead laser. I finally got my hands on an old 2100, so my question is: will the 2100 laser make my 2200 work again?

    Thanks for any info provided.

Not sure about that, but the mirror motor will work. =^..^==
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The part numbers are different, so the entire laser unit probably won't work. But blackcat said the mirror mirror motor will work, sometimes a dead laser unit can be brought back from the grave by changing that.

I've bought another 3 to 12 months of life by gently lifting off the mirror assy, cleaning the bushing and shaft, and adding 1 drop of light oil to the air-bearing. Yes, I know you're not supposed to lubricate air-bearings, but when it's not working what do you have to lose?

Oh, and never touch the mirror surfaces with anything. Air clean only. Fingerprints will not come off. Cotton swabs and cotton pads scratch the surface. If air won't remove the foreign matter, leave it. =^..^=

I have a HP 2200 with a bad fuser. I'll sell you the laser out of it if you want it.
