HP Office Jet Pro L7650 scanner failure

Customer has a HP L7650 that has a scanner failure indication.I can make a copy when i put the original on the glass( B/W and Color )but if i try to use Doc Feeder it gives me the scanner failure error. Also if i lay original on glass and try to scan or fax get the same error(scanner Failure). Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Spend $199 from your local office supply for a new one, before you surpass that amount in labor cost? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

No did not lube rails, do you think that could be the cause of the problem? Also kinda obligated to fix this thing.

Well there's no service manual for this POS, so you might as well junk it. Parts will be very scarce too. Another one of the HP Disposable lineup.
