    Problem solved!

Tried swapping the fuser - no luck. Tried swapping the #2 tray from another machine...SHAZAM! Worked like a champ. Compared both trays and found that the standard/custom flags didn't look the same between the two trays. Problem was the paper backstop was off one click and it didn't allow the flags to fall in the right positions.

I work mostly on copiers (I know, "well maybe he should stick to copiers." ), but I want to thank you for your help!

Thanks guys. Yes, I did set tray two to custom just for giggles. I'll try the fuser. Thanks again.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the overall problem, but if tray 2 prints slower than tray three and they both have the same size and type of paper loaded, you might check to see if the paper type settings for tray 2 are correct.

Mmm I had a similar issue on an hp printer (cant remember if it was this model, I think it may have been)... It was the fuser that was causing the issue, I didn't believe it at first but as soon as I replaced the fusrr the machone duplexed fine.I think it has something to do with a temperature adjustment for the second side, ie going lower but it doesn't go lower so it waits until it does...
    Thanks

Does it display or store a jam code? Have you printed the Error Log? =^..^=

Hp Laserjet 4250dn False Duplex Jams

This is a weird one. When duplexing out of the #2 tray, the paper prints the first side. It goes into the duplexer and just stops, with the data light blinking. If I power down the machine, it spits out the paper that's sitting in the duplex tray, after coming to ready. I also noticed that the #2 tray runs much slower than the #3 tray. The #3 tray duplexes just fine.

Things I've done: Replaced the #2 feed rollers (OEM). Replaced the solenoid. Tried swapping the duplexer with another machine.

    Ideas? Thanks
Working...
