check memory, I am guessing on this one. When I see a blank screen and the screen works I head for the memory then formatter. Is it possible a wire got pinched somewhere. will it still work even when the screen is blank. Now it could also be a power supply issue. and of course always check your power source for ground to neutral, unplug machine and then reboot.

If it has a network card, HDD or other EIO device remove it and power up the printer again. See if the problem remains. If it does or the network port is built into the board, it is probably the formatter.
