    Hp 4250 /random unprompted prints

    Customer left me copies of mysteriously unprompted prints that machine periodically prints out.
    PRINT SAYS
    PCL XL error

    Subsystem PATMGR

    ERROR RasterPatternUndefined

    Operator SetBrushSource

    Position 584

    Can you please tell me what it means and what I need to do to correct problem.

      Is this the same machine with the 49.4Cxx codes? Re-read that post. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          no it is not same machine but i will look for that post now.

          NO I JUST LOOKED> I ORDERED A NETWORK CARD FOR THAT MACHINE< IT GUY AT CUSTOMERS SITE GOT INSULTED WHEN I SUGGESTED IT WAS SOME THING IN NETWORK<HE SAID HE HAS 75 MACHINES NETWORKED AT LOCATION AND HIS NETWORK IS 100% NOT THE PROBLEM<HENCE I ORDERTED NETWORK CARD.

              If your it guy is that arrogant, that is part of the problem. If you change the card and the problem persist, it is a network issue. The 615 cards were recalled. You need a 620 or better.

                  Hi Cucu,

                  Typically when you get a PCL error it has something to do with print drivers.

                  Is it possible that you have a computer that is connected to the printer via the network and they didn't use the correct driver when they set it up.

                  I know that different HP printers react differently to driver issues.

                  Some will print continuously mostly blank pages, some will just give an error page like that above.

                  I would try and narrow it down to a single computer on the network.

                      When any IT guy is 100% sure that it's nothing wrong with his network (or 100% sure of anything) I become sure that he's not as smart as he claims.

                      Listen to the people here. The most qualified people here will rarely say their 100% sure of anything. We've all been wrong too many times to claim that. =^..^=
