    LJ4100 Custom

I have a LJ4100 that says tray 2 size is custom, tray 3 is letter. I tried to restore factory settings but can't figure out how to get tray 2 to letter. It's configured as plain paper but I can't find where to change the size to letter. TIA

I'm not sure about this model, but on many HP Laserjets you can just pull tray 2 out and push it back in and the machine will ask you to confirm or change the paper size and type.
Or just go to the paper handling menu. I know for a fact that works on Laserjets since the 5n.

Thanks for getting me in the neighborhood. Your post made me look at the side of the cassette and that's where the lever is that switches it from plain to custom.

It's common thing on the printers ... for end users to change that tray setting, and a million other little things just like this.

For example, one of my accounts consistently busts off the tray1 PE flag. As a consequence the machine always tries to take paper from tray1, especially when none is there. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

When resetting to factory settings didn't fix it, I figured it was gonna be something stupid because half the calls are.

That certainly was a possibility, but in this case he already fixed it Bill. =^..^=
