I only get this if the network cable is plugged in. If I leave it out machine works fine as a copier/fax. Don't usually do these types of printers but a customer asked me to look at it.

Re: LJ Pro 1536DNF Error 79
If you've got access to a laptop and can connect it to the machine with a crossover cable, you might try that and see what happens.
If the machine has a USB port and will print through that, see if the user could hook it up by USB to one of their computers and have it be shared on the network that way.
Kind of a long shot, but while I've never seen it before I've heard that some HP's don't like being plugged into surge suppressors. Something to consider at least.
Otherwise it kind of sounds like a bad formatter, although you might check HP's website and see if there is a firmware upgrade before you change it. -
Re: LJ Pro 1536DNF Error 79
If it's like every other HP laserjet, for example code 79 (0803) is corrupt image memory. If the image memory is removable it will restore printing, but slowly. There is no memory upgrade available (128MB standard). So it's up to you to discover 1) whether that memory can be changed separately, and 2) whether this machine is worth fixing. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: LJ Pro 1536DNF Error 79
Thanks for the offer Paul, I appreciate it. Their IT guy may handle it. It's a little dinky printer that I don't expect to see again. If I need it, I'll send an email. Thanks againComment
