    hp lj 2300

customer was purchasing their cartridges themselves not sure if oem or compatible and has to periodically pull cartridge out and shake due to a light streak from lead edge to trail in same area. the cartridge(compatible) I sold them is now doing the same thing. Just defective cartridges. If a oem cartridge is installed and the same reults occur where do I look next???
    Thanks!!!

Are you sure a new cartridge is doing this? Customers love to insist they "just" replaced it--failing to tell you they've run 10000+ prints on it.

I agree with theengel. I don't think that there's anything to fix here. When the cartridges get low, sometimes it runs out of toner at the front, or the back, or the middle. Just shake the cartridge a little if you want the last 25 prints from the dregs in the bottom of the cartridge. If you don't care so much, just change the cartridge. =^..^=

My guess is that you just have an empty cartridge.

No, if it were a dirty laser, shaking the cartridge would have no effect.

turn the cartridge over , open the flap that covers the drum, you should also be able to see the mag roller with the toner on it . Is there a corresponding line on the toner roller with your print ? also if you look at the top of cartridge were the scanner(hp likes to be different) writes to the drum there is a black charge roller on top of the drum, is there contamination or build up on the charge roller. if yes, it could be paper dust or if remanufactured faulty(inexpensive) parts. or the mag roller(toner roller) and charge roller aren't being replaced when remanufactured.
