The problem on arrival was blank prints including internal prints like the configuration page and demo page were all printing blank. I removed all toner cartridges and transfer belt and cold reset the system. After reinstalling the toner cartridges and transfer belt the unit started printing fine. However the unit lost its IP settings so I enabled DHCP power cycled the system and got an IP of 169.254.158.254 a Subnet Mask of 255.255.0.0 and Default Gateway 169.254.158.254. Next I tried manually inputting the IP address that it had subsequent to all of this 10.12.97.18 the Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 and Default Gateway 10.12.97.1. However after power cycling the system the Default Gateway changes to the same as the IP address (10.12.97.18) and subsequently the customers are unable to print via their network. If anyone has a clue as to what might be happening here I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

This address means that DHCP did not assign you a valid address. DHCP may not be functioning or you may not be on active network connection. You can try hard setting the original address, but it will only help if you have a network connection. Also you can put your laptop on the network cable to see if your laptop is assigned a valid IP.
Most likely the printer is functional. It's a network connection issue. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
