    [Misc] hP DJ T100mfp scanner

Ok guys, a retired KM tech needs help! A friend got a scanner from a DJ T1100MFP and wants to know if they can be used as a standalone scanner. The printer was scrapped. He is running windows 7 and has a working firewire cable. I know its a Contex DF67m and we have tried their drivers but info is pretty scarce. Any help out there in HP land?

The info I have from GTCO/Calcomp is that the T1100MFP used the Contex Chroma G600 42" scanner. (Not sure what a DF67M is, sorry.)

You would need a copy of the GTCO WideScan software. It's licensed.

You can contact Bill Mitchel at Wide Scanners & Systems (they acquired GTCO.) 951-313-6142

I don't know how much the software is. The original HP PC that came with the scanner had it embedded.

    Good luck.

Here are the downloads for that scanner. (It's also referred to as a GS67D)

CHROMA G600 / Spectra 600e | Contex Large Format Scanners and Software

You need the driver, the scanner maintenance (to calibrate the scanner,) and the Wide Image software to actually scan with.

I hope you have the calibration sheet.

If you're feeling really adventurous, you can try this:

Order the recovery CDs from HP. Drivers & Software - HP Support Center. They're free, and ship by USPS for free (usually.)

You can use any old PC, or use VirtualBox to create a virtual PC, and then run the restore from these CDs. The image uses Norton Ghost, and if you boot the CD it will begin the restore process. (You don't need Norton Ghost.)

Reboot and boot the VM.. it will find new hardware galore.. let it settle, follow any prompts, reboot.. eventually you'll have a working PC with the scanner drivers and software ready to go. You should be able to connect the firewire port to the VM just like a USB port and it should see the scanner.

What I've done though, is made an image of the VM and put it on a old Dell PC, let it boot and find new hardware. You may even be able to restore directly from the CDs to the PC, but since it's XP it won't always boot because of missing hardware. There's likely utilities that can fix this out there.

At any rate, either via PC or VM, you should be able to get what you need.

Thanks for the info, especially the restore cd info. I will give that a try.
