    Designjet Z2100 - 03:10

I replaced the power supply because the fan was loud. This was supposedly a "new" one from HP... although the box had been opened and then resealed before. Anyway, after all that work, I'm getting a 03:10 error. If I do the power supply check, it comes up right as it's testing the carriage. The customer says it wasn't giving this error before, but I never actually saw it run, so there's no telling. Actually, they shut it off when it was making the noise, and I don't think they had it powered up since it started making the noise, so I guess there's really no telling.

Any ideas? I've got another power supply on the way.

Just curious; where did you get the part from? If it came from HP and was 'used', it should have a yellow sticker showing who the HP tech was that opened it. Otherwise, it's probably another bad PSU.

I've not run into this issue with that particular error. I know it's obvious but, have you verified that the fan in the PSU is running? That's all I can think of to check.

    Sorry I'm not more help!

By the way, you can order the main PCA with the PSU attached. The part numbers in the service manual are old; if you need the part number let me know if it's a 24" or 44" Z2100.

Thanks for your input Kiran. I'm pretty sure this is just a bad PS. I saw that you could get the PCA with the PS, but the only thing wrong with it, in the beginning, was a vibrating fan. I did actually see the new fan turning. The error, every time, came at the point in the Electronics Module Calibration when it was checking the power supply & carriage unit. I'll post results when I try the new PSU.

Turned out to be a bad PSU out of the box.
