    HP 4250

What would cause this HP 4250 to print the requested number of prints but always leave one of the prints blank? From what I am told, this happens each time which leads me to believe it isn't mechanical, otherwise there would more than likely be more than one blank sheet. Thank you for any help given.

Is your enduser generating documents in Microsoft Word? It's an interesting quirk of Word that it frequently adds an additional blank page at the end of the document. You can delete the blank page. Or you can print pages 1 - X, skipping the blank one.

Mostly when I find such documents, I just point out that when you leave selected "Print All" it is going to print all. If you don't want to "Print All", then select something else. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

[from page 84 of the service manual]
note.... this is a reduction of the actual page. google for the sm and download.

      (HP LaserJet 4250/4350
      only)
      SYMBOL SET
      APPEND CR TO LF
      SUPPRESS BLANK PAGES
      MEDIA SOURCE MAPPING

SUPPRESS BLANK PAGES: When generating your own
PCL, extra form feeds are included that would cause a blank
page(s) to be printed. Select YES for form feeds to be
ignored if the page is blank.

Often caused by people who try to space their Word documents using the tab, enter button, and arrow keys.

They hit enter extra times to leave spaces between paragraphs. They leave their work for a second. When they go back to resume, they put their cursor at the last word typed, and hit enter again. Now there are a few extra blank lines after the last word they typed. And they do it again and again and again.

Such people are also fond of pressing the space bar 500 times to get a word to appear in a certain area. And then changing their minds but leaving all the extra spaces.

As someone who has experience typesetting, I sometimes want to choke these people.

not to piggy back but i have a closely related issue and im wondering if the "cure" would be the same. when doing print outs of the menu map or other self prints or prints from a computer, the 4250 will sometimes send up a blank page that stops halfway through the fuser. as soon as you do another job, the machine spits out the blank page. at no point does it say that there is a jam. now the machine does jam intermittently but in different locations throughout the machine and states that there is a jam but when it stops in the fuser, it says nothing and then shoots out the blank page on the next job. any ideas guys?

@ usmjake, you have isolated the problem down, being you are printing out a menu map page, your issue most likely is the tray 2 paper feed solenoid.
