What is the expected fuser life on the P4015 I have a customer that has one with 300k on it, it needs rollers and is making noise from exit when printing from tray 2, tray one no noise. What do you think? thanks in advance for any comments.

Re: H-P P4015 expected fuser life
The maintenance message appears at around 200K prints, so I think you've got your money's worth from that fuser.
Although if the fuser was the cause of the noise, the noise would happen anytime the machine prints from any paper source. Based entirely on the information you have provided so far, the fuser assembly itself is probably not the source of the noise you are hearing. I'd at least replace the rollers for tray 2 before I ever thought about doing anything with the fuser if I encountered the problem as you explained it. -
Re: H-P P4015 expected fuser life
Iowatech is correct. There is no official yield on that maintenance kit, but machine of a similar built typically do 200K. By my guesstimation your. at 150% of yield. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

OEM HP fusers are solid as a rock. If you replace with rebuilt, don't expect the same mileage with a rebuilt. The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment

Re: H-P P4015 expected fuser life
HP OEM will last to 225,000 and even longer. I've seen rebuilt last 20,000 or even less. Some rebuilt even make noise. They seem to bind causing stress to the fuser drive ass'y causing a loud noise. Since tray 1 runs at a slower speed, the noise would be less compared tray 2. The fuser in your unit may have been replaced with a rebuilt fuser. Check the printer information page and look at the maintenance count, if it been reset or not. If this is the original fuser with 300,000 pages, then it reached the end of life and time to replace it.Last edited by Printerdude; 08-01-2015, 07:53 PM.Comment

Re: H-P P4015 expected fuser life
OEM fusers are the best way to go. you will need 4-5 refurbished fusers to make it to 225,000 prints.
Lets just say it is $300.00 for an OEM fuser.
and it is $100.00 for a refurbished fuser
you will actually be saving a $100.00 if you go OEM and your customers wont be pissed off at you and go to another company.IzzyComment
