You're on the right track. You do need to start making observations, and a lot of those do not require a service manual. Like the jam code, paper tray, media type, etc. Clearly we are not on-site to make those observations for you, nor do I care to. Get started. Make observations. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Good news. The solution to the problem is extremely simple.
For some unknown reason, one of the scanning elements of LIDE (sorry for the possible error in writing, I do not know how to translate correctly into English), those located on the ADF itself did not work.
Solution: through the service menu I used the code 906, after this action the function of two-sided copying was available. Now, the problem did not happen again. all working.Comment

I am guessing you had a C3210 Code. If it only happens a couple times a year a 906 may be your best solution. If it happens more frequently and the customer is getting upset you will need to replace parts. See this post.
