[Misc] XM 7155 Control panel printing on it's own and then Non responsive...

Ok this is strange, Sometimes when the customer tries to copy, the control panel locks up. Turning on/off the machine will usually fix this. Another problem when the customer scans to email. The copier will start clicking and inserting character's where the email address goes. Usually after the customer starts typing. Has anyone ever seen this before ? Going to throw parts at it, thinking the entire control panel 1st, touchscreen and all... Thanks so much for any help !!!

We've seen bad Lexmark touchscreens, but it's usually a display issue: they usually roll and flicker like a poorly tuned vacuum tube TV.

It sounds to me like you have a touchpad issue ... replace the panel. Also my choice.

Keep in mind that the power supply can cause display issues also. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Seconded, sounds like every damaged touchscreen I've ever encountered (on cell phones mostly but still) might try weird pressure in weird places on the panel while someone prints to see if you can get jobs to go through while the bad spots are being alleviated.
