Lexmark MX511 DE Pickup roller assembly

I recently replaced a pickup roller assembly for a Lexmark MX511DE and two weeks later the customer called about a grinding noise in the ADF. I reseated the assembly and made sure it was lined up like it is in various sources, and to no benefit, as it just keeps jamming and making the grinding noise. I ended up ordering another assembly and hope this fixes the issue.

Anyone experience this before? Here is some picture I took:

have you checked the path for staples, paperclips, & etc.? or checked the areas around the gears? does the paper still feed, but makes noise?

Hello, it turned out to be the separator pad of all things. Apparently it wasn't on there right, and it was causing the grinding sound.

The rear of the adf door will also sometimes not fully latach on these and when the dooor slighlty pops up on the rear the gears become unmeshed and will grind.
