got a fuser that is brand new- but out of box. don't know if it was ever installed. does the counter on lexmark fusers reset machine when installed-thereby making it unable to reset again or do they just count to 250k and shut down again? i could replace counter with aftermarket counter but would prefer not to. thanks--tuey

Re: 41x1115 fuser counter
It depends on the model. I'm not sure what your fuser is compatible with but, for example, the XM7355 fuser will automatically reset the count when you install a new one. However, the XM3250 requires you to go to the maintenance menu and manually reset the count. Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"? -
Re: 41x1115 fuser counter
it's for an ms820 among other models. pretty sure the fuser resets the maintenance message-- nothing in manual about reset procedures. guess i'll have to buy an aftermarket reset device and install it to be sure. not sure it's ever been installed but to be sure it looks like that's what i need to do. thanksComment

Re: 41x1115 fuser counter
just found the fuser again-- i can't find the original box and am second guessing the part #- 41x1115. it is not on the fuser anywhere-- the only lexmark type # is 50g3900 which doesn't come up anywhere. is there any way i can be sure? thanksComment

Re: 41x1115 fuser counter
All I can think of is you can go to the customers and try the unit. Also compare the fuser picture to a picture online here is one I found at metro fuser they are great people.

Re: 41x1115 fuser counter
thanks, i saw the metrofuser pics, not enough info for me to be sure. i have a couple of b2865's at a pharmacy- probably get one turned around to see fuser. i bought this at an auction for $3 - cheap enough to take a chance. i therefore do not know if it was ever installed, thats why i wondered about the reset. dont want to chance the machine not resetting the maint kit message. i've never put an aftermarket chip on a lexmark fuser and would avoid it if i can. as i am trying to retire i may not last long enough to try fuser re-chip it and use it on the second maint kit cycle. thank-you for your help--tueyComment
