    X646e with inverted/mirror LCD display

Ever run across this? I had a call on an X646e with just such a display. Indeed, it was upside down and backwards. Lexmark support had not heard of it happening, but after being put on hold while they check a higher authority (?) recommended I remove the operator panel and all its connections, reattach and see if that cures it. Well, it did. My only guess is a weird voltage spike, and removing all connections let all caps disipate, so when powered up again it came up normal. Anyone else seen this odd display?

I've had a few coin-ops do just exactly this.

Disconnect power. Reseat all connectors. Power up, an whallah! I have never had it reoccur. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That didn't last; in a few days it was psycho again. Got Lexmark to send me a replacement inverter board and for good measure another LCD display. It's been about a week since I installed them, and no further reports of trouble.

For those following this thread, it's been quite a while now, and I was at the site on another call. The display is fine. I suspect the inverter board fixed it; OK to change the full LCD panel, too, i guess (but its removal was touchy, one of the little black tabs that needs to be bent for release simply snapped off when I gave it any pressure....more poor design? Anyway, not critical).
