We took in on trade a Lexmark 748DE printer. As we are not Lexmark dealers we have very little info on these models. I thought if it was working I would take it home for personal use however when it prints it does not print black. All other colors print. Switched the drums, no help. All supplies are full/new. All DV units are fairly new. Any quick ideas? Not going to spend a lot of money on this, just curious. Thanks!

Re: CS748DE printer
We've changed a controller board for just that. Save the machine to part out for the next Lexmark XS-748DE you take in. This one isn't worth fixing. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: CS748DE printer
check the main board on the side it has springs on it for each color I have seen these springs move in shipment or delivery and cause drums to void out.
you will probally find the black not making contactComment
