Ricoh Pro C5100s - PCU Cleaning Unit Not Resetting

I have read a few threads about resetting the SC code after I placed a a new PCU unit (entire assembly not parts). I have tried resetting the count and not had any luck. Someone posted to leave right door open, however the 5100 has a drawer.

NOTE: I am new to technical work and hope to take a training in summer, for now learning ALOT.

did you clear the parts? first THEN reset the error code?

    leave front door open

do you have the service manual?

I think by drawer you are think about the front door. On these you have to open the jam door on the right end of the machine. If it has a LCIT, you have to move it away from the main frame in order to open the door.

Open door, clear counter, cycle power. If the message either does not clear or comes back within 50 to 100 copies, you have a problem with a lube bar sensor. I believe there is a bulletin on this.

I just got the manual but was viewing the manual for the 5200 for a while, each machine has SC codes different from the manuals. Like a factory preset was conducted to suit the vendor. I purchase the machines from my Uncle wholesale whose staff is just getting into Ricohs, so we are all learning.

I did clear the parts, then reset the error code. But I did not leave the right door open. Will try now.

If not will check the PCU unit to ensure lube bar sensor is not bent.

No formal training, just 30 years of watching and learning from other techs.

Slimslob I did see the other bulletin but until you explained I was not grasping "right door"....Dealt with Canons for 30 years and Ricoh is a 8month learning curve. Everything I know is self taught or through observation. If I could take a cert class somewhere without a tech company backing I will in a heartbeat!

          Thank you!

Resetting the parts one by one and not just the unit, has helped me in the past (MP C8002)

I replaced this unit the other day.

Simply enter service mode then choose the PM Counter menu from there you can reset the counter (this is the same as manual new unit set in SP7xxx)

You really should have a service manual working on the Pro series mistakes can be very costly!
