Not mine: Xerox 3100 LDC such a deal!

This doesn't seem to fit in the technical area, or the rants and raves area I think.

For sale on eBay a Xerox 3100LDC

    Priced low at $123,456.00

With this price I wonder if this is a spoofed advertisement.

The first time I saw one of these was when I was in High School in the 1970s. The district office had one, while the school offices had Apeco electro-static machines.

Compared to the Apeco machines, the Xerox 3100LDC was something to behold.

I later owned one which I purchased at a low surplus price of $150 Dissembled and refurbished for use here at home. It never caught a piece of paper on fire, but I did have a fire extinguisher close by. 😁

it was very easy for my mother to use. At the time she was copying and keep records of my father's health issues.

I remember scrapping these in the late 70 early 80. Selenium drum was difficult to get rid of, Not at that time it all went to the scrap yard when disassembled and emptied. Yes with the fire extinguisher like the 914 model, sold with one as an recommended option.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Like PCBs, Selenium arsenic coated photo-receptors became a huge toxicity problem.
