Service Vac suggestion.

    Service Vac suggestion.

    So had 3M toner Vac. Worked and died for a one year and few months.

    Bought quick replacement (60 eur) and works great but toner passes filter and create mess around.

    Bought an industry Vac whit paper filter + air Hepa h13 filter(180 Eur). Dead after Vacuming few production machines.

    Is 3M Toner Vac or whatever Katun sells this days only answer??


    I need suggestion for good reliable portable Toner Vac! Especially for use in production Konica Minolta machines.

      AFAIK the 3M is the only long term answer. I've got two of them. The first started howling in 1998. It vacuums, but makes a most offensive sound. The second is over 20 years old, and still working fine.

      I've had to break out the spare occasionally, but even someone as deaf as I am wouldn't want to listen to it for any length of time. =^..^=

          I had a 3M die on me once. Took it apart and found that the motor brushes were shuck due to toner that over the years had bypassed the filter, melted and then hardened in place on the brushes. Got that cleaned off with Goof Off and used some emery cloth on the commutators while I had it apart. Worked great after that.

                  If you're looking for a new 3M vacuum, do a search for SCS which now owns the design of the 3M vac. The division was sold off by 3M a few years back, but the filtres and parts are identical.

                      $311 is great! I paid over $450 for mine, over 20 years ago.

                          Convac small particle handheld is an alternative, but has a thermal cutoff that will kickin in about 5min of use and the bags instead of a toner filter box sucks.

                              i would never buy the new STS when i can get the older style on ebay for 1/3 of the price. Have one at home/shop/warehouse....

                              they run forever, even replaced the outlet socket when one of my guys kicked it over.

                                  LOL! I had the C13/NEMA 5-15 cable start to spark, then smoke, then shot out cool green flames from the side of the connector. To be perfectly honest that cord had been jammed in and out of that vacuum box several times a day for 12 years before it shorted out. At the time I had a fried surge suppressor in the car. I spliced on the 15-5 connector and kept on working.

                                  It was pretty exciting though. Fire usually is. =^..^=

                                      For the guys that Cant find 3m Vac or need to wait long time for delivery, there is excelant replacement. Taski go industrial vac. U must order Hepa H13 Filter for it.
                                      Been using it for 6 months now and look at the difference of normal filter vs Hepa filter

                                              Here is one I saw on a Parts dealer site we buy from if you feel its any good.

                                              The company is reputable and I have used them since the 1990 or so.

                                                  That is the right item there.
                                                  Not every vacuum that takes HEPA filters has got static conductive pipes and fittings...

                                                      I bought a 3m off ebay once. When I got it alot of the toner shook back into the motor! It caught fire when I turned it on. Lol Blew it all out and it ran like a champ for over a year...until it was lost in a collision.

                                                      Replaced with another 3m from Crawford Tools. I try to buy all copier tools there. The Omega looks like the same thing. Im sure its a good one too.
                                                      I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.
