Re: Toshiba e-studio 3540c parts manual

Toshiba parts manuals are collected in an application called RIBON, most not available as PDF's. Many of the sensors in this machine are the Sharp73 sensors which were so problematic across the board on many manufacturers machines (6LJ52503000 or C0-10813000).

I can look up others if you like, to confirm.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Try this:
      Parts Catalog > Toshiba > e-Studio 3540c
Also post jam codes if you want some more help...

Those are exactly the sensors I want to change (C0-10813000). I have read that they have quite a few problems. Specifically, they are the paper pass sensors. There are 3, but I don't know where they are exactly and I think they are difficult to change.
I already have the new sensors.

can you be more specific? What do you mean by paper pass sensors?

Yes, thanks, I've looked there before, but I haven't found them, I don't get along with this type of manual, I'll try to look more closely...

                  S26 and S28 are indeed the Sharp73's. S27 CLNG-SNR is a reflective sensor: C0-15007000

The good news is that I haven't had to replace S27 ... just clean.
S26 EXIT-SNR is the easiest, in the gate assy at the fuser exit ... and the most likely to fail. Photointerrupters exposed to heat have a much higher likelihood of failure. I've had them crumble to dust just from a gentle touch after years cooking over a fuser.
S30 & S28 are more difficult to get to, on the inner side of the vertical paper path.

The tricky thing about those Sharp73 sensors is that just unplugging/replugging the connector or rebooting the machine can temporarily restore function for days, even weeks. If you can actually catch a sensor acting up, and re-seating the connector helps, definitely replace the sensor. All you've done is bought a little time. I've replaced those sensors in every possible location in the machine: door switches, drum phase switches, PE sensors ... everywhere.

For anyone that's interested that's the shutter status detection sensor S20 SHUT-SNR. As mentioned before, any one of those Sharp73 photointerrupters can be a problem. Congratulations on your find! =^..^=
