    HP Officejet 6500

Is there a service manual for the HP Officejet 6500? I'm checking the HP site and not finding it, it seems as though they label every individual problem and expect techs to read up about it that way...

Ask any questions that you've got.

There isn't much in the way of inkjet service manuals. A few of us have tinkered with them. The biggest problem seem to be that it doesn't take much labor time to exceed the cost of the printer. 9 out of 10 service calls cancel when they hear about the $89.00 minimum 1 hour, and very limited replacement parts. The only way to do it would be to have a vast graveyard of inkjet parts donor machines. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Well, the problem is this guy spilled his ink all over it somehow, so he just wanted us to clean it up and see if we can correctly install it. I was just wondering about the service manual to ensure I could get the copy quality as best as possible. It's an all-in-one desktop printer with a doc feed and everything... Just not sure about service functions.

In the users manual you should be able to find the printhead alignment function. That's about all you can do.

        Here's the user manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01669504.pdf
        See pg 152.

I wasn't expecting much for quality assurance from an inkjet, thanks! I have a funny video I'll be posting shortly... This has to be the fastest inkjet printer in the world, we had a lot of fun watching this.

No jam detection whatsoever. When that rear cover is off, the paper leaves the tray and drops on the table (~1.5" paper path). Cool, eh? If you don't need an image, that's the way to go. =^..^=

Customer sent it to us without the back cover without realizing. Got a good laugh for sure.
